A Contact Form is coming soon, to replace the simple email address above..

I read some articles on providing better service to website visitors, and this struck me as something that could be done to improve the site, and  so it will be addressed.  Here is a summary of what I have learned:

Having a Contact Form available on your website is Important.

It is good design practise to always include a Contact page on your website, so that customers who have a query that falls outside of the normal sequence of events can contact you.  All too often this important facility is ignored, and as a consequence, many visitors who could potentially become customers are lost to a rival business – one who can clinch the sale by going the extra mile with customer service and answering a question directly.

It is highly unlikely that you will be able to anticipate every query that your customers might have.  They may even want to approach you for reasons totally outside of what you believe the main purpose of your website to be.  For example, perhaps the Domain Name of your website is one that they wish to own for their own business, and so they want to approach you to make an offer to buy your domain.  This offer might be very generous, and you would never know if there was no way for the potential purchaser to get your attention.

Or perhaps the visitor may have a useful service to offer – one that would work well in partnership with your business.  Again, it would be a shame to never know what possibilities might be thrown your way by someone else that may have expertise in areas where you know very little.  People who can recognise opportunities to partner with others are often the ones who become the most successful, because they recognise the value of concentrating their efforts on the things that they do well, while leaving others to concentrate on their own specialty tasks.

But the main reason of course to have a good, serviceable Contact Form on your Contact page is so that visitors, who may be ready to buy whatever it is that you are offering, but are hesitant until they get an answer to a simple query, are finally persuaded by your quick and thoughtful response to their query to trust your site.  This will convert them from a visitor to a customer.  The Contact Form should be kept simple and clear, and you should also make sure that it incorporates some anti-spam functionality such as Captcha.

Although Captcha will not stop all spam comments or queries, it will certainly slow down the automated, robot-driven spam comment insertion that gets fired around the Internet minute by minute.  A genuine customer will understand the need to be challenged to prove that they are human, and they will appreciate the care that you have taken to ensure that their comment is valued and made to standout against the background noise of spamming.
